- Average # of years in addiction – 10 years and 80% are both alcohol and hard drugs, 2/3 served prison or jail time
- More than half suffered childhood sexual abuse or other childhood trauma
- More than half were homeless at one time during their addiction
Here is the good news! All recipients continue to thrive in life and are staying clean and sober. One received his Masters and is working in the drug/alcohol counselor/therapy field in private practice in both Oregon and California. One is in his Masters Program to continue to counsel in the drug/alcohol rehabilitation field. Two of them received their IT/Computer Science certifications from Central Oregon Community College and one is studying to become a Pastor with credentials in Theology!

- 3 out of 4 people incarcerated are addicted or have some level of misuse.
- When Oregon decriminalized drugs in 2024, we saw a 33% surge in drug overdose
